Bali is without a doubt one of my favourite places in the entire world! What really stuck with me was not only the exquisite natural landscapes or the exotic wildlife but the every day hustle of the locals. Their daily struggles, work ethic, and attitude of life deepened my understanding of the true hustle. People here don’t stop working. Everyone is out trying to make money out of nothing. To make a better living, out of nothing. Many people will see this as very intimidating because when they see a tourist you know what’s coming next but it truly opened my eyes on how hard some people work to put food on the table. Bali may be cheap for those that are visiting but it is rich beauty, heart, and culture. This is so evident when I spoke with the locals and tried to get to know them better. I spoke to a local driver and he told me he rides over 2 hours everyday to get to the city to work and make money for his family back in the village; “I don’t make much money but my family and I are still happy” Now that is something that is priceless. Someone who
earns less then 10 bucks a day and still find the beauty in life! I think what is most important is that despite our struggles, despite whatever we are dealing with, we should always find the beauty of life.
